OPEI, Carlisle and TurfMutt

The Outdoor Power Equipment Education & Research Foundation (OPEI) and Discovery Education has partnered together to create “TurfMutt”, a nationwide, in-school, science-based program designed to educate youth and inspire a greater appreciation of personal and community green spaces. “TurfMutt” named for its ambassador, the dog Lucky, offers free classroom resources for fostering an appreciation of the environment and green spaces through scientific investigation, activities and experiments.
Carlisle is a member of OPEI and shares in the belief that we should care for and protect our everyday environment. Carlisle makes belts, tires and wheels for outdoor power equipment such as lawnmowers, garden tractors, utility vehicles, snow throwers, tillers, and other related products.

“TurfMutt” was born to meet a demonstrated need to enlighten students, families and communities about the importance of landscapes and greenspaces.
